I'm not big on video games. In fact, I've only really played four of them.
I had a period where I played Quake III back in the frogfire days. We had lan games. It was awesome. I miss that.
At brightlane we played counterstrike.
I loved Civilization III, a strategy game of world domination like the board game Risk.
The other one was the original Half Life. I just got hooked on it. It had a good plot and dragged me in.
So when I saw that Half Life 2 was out I bought it. I downloaded the entire game from the publisher's site. About 900Mb.
I had to get a new video card to play it to its full potential. I got an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro. Beautiful graphics. I had to uninstall the other two video cards (I had three in the computer) to get it working and the latest drivers installed.
The game rocks. Incredible graphics. It's full 3d and it's getting cinematic. I was floored because I don't play many games. The people look like people. They have expressions. Their eyes look at you. Amazing stuff.
There are puzzle challenges. There are action shoot-em-up scenes. It's great fun and keeps you moving.
I'm still at the beginning of the game (I hope). Not spending much time on it, but I could see it getting a little more addictive. If only that work thing wasn't there.
