Usability Inspection with Lance Weatherby at the ATDC

My father and I descended this chilly December morn (29 degrees!) on the ATDC to chat with Lance Weatherby, who's been blogging up a storm about entreprenurialism with a focus on the customer. Lance was willing to subject himself to a usability inspection and helped us identify a list of twenty usability hurdles... a.k.a. a couple more weeks of work. But this is a good type of work that's based on real-world user feedback and it's refreshing to be at this stage of development... finally. After that we discussed some go-to-market strategy and focus, Lance challenging some assumptions and prompting new approaches where needed. Lance is now working more closely with the ATDC and I was interested in hearing more about their mission and goals. We went over the Five C's... Community, Connections, Credibility... and the other two which are very important and on the tip of my tongue. As we left my father concluded that this meeting was "the best dNeero meeting to date, because of Lance's personality and experience... I like the guy." I couldn't agree more and only hope that I don't abuse my welcome at the deep well of wisdom that is Lance Weatherby. At some point I'd like to be able to give him back something... ideas, connections, cash... something. We're thinking about a nice dinner out with some of our advisors... maybe a free meal is a start. Thanks to Lance for the time. We've got our homework and will be working on it. Oh, and I almost forgot the bet... a one dollar bet was placed on the outcome of a particular strategy. Sorry for the lack of detail but I think it'll be instructive, whatever the outcome.
